Summer feeling

Summer is definitely getting closer and closer here in Portugal and with it the feeling of holiday and relaxing.
Last saturday I went to the beach, it was my first time this year. I just love the feeling of warm sand on my feet, laying in the sun just relaxing, looking at the sea and it´s smell... :)
When I was little my grandparents had a beach house and I used to spend most of my summer in the beach, eating fresh fish and building sand spaceships with my brothers, lol, actually till my teenage years. One thing my grandparents never allowed us to do was surfing. They always told us it was dangerous and they were affraid of the sea, so we never showed any interest in it. I tottaly understand; now and then we hear stories on the news about boys who died surfing. But lately I feel like I should give it a go, Portugal has amazing conditions for it and I have some friends who love doing it. Ofcourse they say it can be dangerous sometimes but if you are carefull and learn the places to go and to see when the sea is ok they say it´s really great. I´m still trying to decide if I should surf or bodyboard? what do you reckon? Do any of you surf? any advice?

Have a great weekend :) ***

  3. I tried surfing while on vacation in Hawaii, and it was surprisingly difficult, given I've done things like skateboarding and vaulting (on a real horse!) before. You should try it - it might turn out to be a great new hobby!

I love that phrase "sand spaceships" instead of the usual "sand castles".
