Christmas night

Hello Lovelies,
I want to wish you all I great New Year and share some of my Christmas decorations and presents. As I predicted I didn't get anything from my wishlist but I didn't mind at all, the gifts were all meaningful. My favorite one was a box with my name on it filled with sweets and cakes that my wee bro made himself. Seriously he is not the type of boy to do such things so believe me I was really impressed with his gift. What a cutie. :)
It's tradition in Portugal to open the gifts on Christmas eve at midnight and instead of eating Turkey we Portuguese have our own tradition of eating Bacalhau (that is dry cod). So for Christmas dinner we had Bacalhau and other sea food specialties as you can see in the pictures bellow.

Cutest Box ever from my little brother, he molded my name himself and baked the cakes. :)

Our Christmas table. As you can see there's crab and shrimp oh how I love sea food!

Hope you had a great meaningful Christmas filled with your own traditions. **Rita** hug :)

My really shallow Christmas list

Dear Santa,

I know I haven't always been the best of girls and sometimes I really screw things up. I mean I don't really believe in you and think that the idea of people ignoring Jesus and making the party about you is just absurd! But because I to like to dream and because the chances of me getting any of the presents I'm wishing for is as impossible as you existing (mostly because I've passed the age of asking for presents and these are the sort of, If  I had the money right now, kind of presents). So here they are...

First on my wishlist is the Iphone 4 S. Now this baby has been in stores quite recently and I've been drooling over it in the Apple store quite a few times. The first time I heard the price I almost collapsed. (One day, one day...)

Second on my list is the hair straightener. Well I know I could easily buy some cheap one and get it over with. The thing is I saw this commercial for a reaaaally cool new one and It's quite expensive so....

Third on my list is a Starbucks Thermo travel mug. ehehehe I'll probably buy this myself!! My friend has one and we went to Starbucks and got ourselves a discount when using it. Really nice if you love Starbucks as much as I do. :)

And  last but not least, and probably the one thing it would make me really happy. A New Year's trip to Northern Ireland. I would love to go and spend New Year's weekend with friends in NI but the flights are really expensive and Easyjet doesn't really have flights on the days I could go. Really a shame hopefully will be able to go next year.

I think this is all of my shallow wishlist. Do you guys have any gifts you would like to get this Christmas? Please do share so I wont feel to bad by myself! xD

Wishing you all a very very happy Christmas.

New hair style

I was very excited about this Saturday. I was finally going to the hairdresser and get my Ombre hair done. I had never dyed my hair before so I took some pictures and told the hairdresser I trusted her experience to help me get the better color and highlights. I was so very excited and she even covered the mirror so I could only see the final result so I wouldn't spoil the surprise... When I was finally finished and the moment of truth came I couldn't believe my eyes! "Don't get scared you just need to get used to it." She said. I was so shocked I didn't know if I would smile or cry. My hair was not just dyed on the ends but most of it was done and she added this really big and brighter than all the rest highlight right in the front of my hair that makes it look so cheap. Needless to say I was really disappointed. Not to say all my friends looked at me with a bit of a shock and mocked me every time I took my hat off. Yes I wore a hat all day long and need to think of a way to hide the awful hair and big bright highlight for a whole week! Because I'm working I can only have time to go back to the hairdresser next Saturday and get it done right. I can already imagine the look on peoples faces when they see me with this awful hair...

Seriously it doesn't look so bad because I'm wearing a bonnet but once I take it of it's really scary. OMW what have I done!!? (hopefully next Saturday all will be well again...)

Ok just so I can forget a bit about the hair issue I'm going to share some really awesome pictures. I can't tell you how much I love Christmas lights. Can't get enough of it and think it adds a really romantic touch to Christmas nights and streets.

What is your favorite Christmas detail or decoration? Wishing you a really great weak. :)

Films I've watched lately

Hello my lovely readers. I am so sorry if I haven't been posting very regularly lately but I've been quite busy with work and you know how it goes... But because I'm a filmaholic I always make time to watch some films so here's the list of what I've been watching lately....

North & South: This is actually a BBC mini serie that I didn't know about until recently. It´s the kind of classic romance you just can't stop watching and want more and more episodes, specially because Mr. Thornton is just the hottest ever!!

One Day: I finally got to see this lovely film. I've been wanting to watch it for a while and I was not disappointing. It's such a beautiful story but with a bit of a sad ending.... Can't tell you anymore you must see it yourself.

Submarine: Remember my post a few weeks ago telling you how much I loved this movie soundtrack? Well it wasn't just the soundtrack I loved, I actually think this is a great film and would recommend it any day. The story is really lovely please do watch it.

Hope you enjoy the list and if you already seen any of these what did you think? What have you been watching lately?
